Dave Brons AmpsIn 2010 I started building my own amps. I had all my gear stolen from my house . My insurance company refused to pay out so I decided the only option was to build my own amps.

To be honest, I had never liked the tone I was getting from the amps I had before, so I set out on a quest to learn how to get the tone I wanted.  After 2 years (!) of research and testing I finally had learned enough to get the sound I was after.   I have built a mini plexi styled 18watt Marshall type amp which is my main amp. I’ve also build a Train Wreck style amp and a triple single ended Champ style amp.

Here is a video of one of the amps

I get many requests asking me to build people an amp. I don’t have the time to do this anymore now that I’m fully focused on writing and touring my music.
(If you really have to have an exact replica of my amp, Daniel Holmes at 4114 Custom Effects can build you one).

Here is a video of me showing the amp and its insides and talking about it on the Guitar Hour with Tom Quayle and Dan Smith.
